You may have noticed several new names on the schedule lately. That’s because our training team has been diligently working to train new instructors, and onboard them to our team so we can continue providing our signature Pilates classes that you’ve come to love!
This “Meet Our Team” series will roll out monthly to introduce you to our team! We’re starting with our newest instructors and then we’ll work our way to our seasoned pros.
Meet Kristen R! Kristen has been a client at RTR Pilates for YEARS! She signed on for training last March 2020 but then the unfortunate pandemic hit. That didn’t stop Kristen! She was determined to learn how to lead RTR Pilates classes and committed to training online! She has since graduated our in house program, grew to be a lovely instructor sharing her love of Pilates with clients at different studio locations. Keep on reading to learn more!
Why do you LOVE Pilates Kristen?
Pilates makes me feel strong and accomplished. It has toned my body in ways I never thought it would…well, be toned! I was a swimmer all of my life and have jogged, spun, zumba-ed, step aerobicized, and HIIT-ed my body to the max but nothing has been as effective at strengthening and shaping all muscles – little and big – as Pilates on the reformer.
How did you start instructing at RTR Pilates?
I first thought about joining the team a few years ago when I was home knee-deep with my two little boys. Pilates at RTR was my oasis where I could be with great people, take care of my body, and let my mind rest. Once I became strong enough and my boys old enough I jumped at the chance to become an instructor. I have never been so excited to go to work!
When you’re not teaching, where can we find you?
These days on the playground or in my backyard but in normal times traveling to the beach, swimming laps, wrestling and snuggling with my boys.

Favorite Pilates exercise/movement & why?
Deadbugs and side lying – they work the muscles in my low abs and surrounding my pelvis, and they always loosen up my congested lower back.
What’s the one thing you want your clients to feel when/after taking your class?
That every muscle was worked and that they leave feeling revived.
