Elevate Your Career with the Gold Standard of Pilates

RTR Pilates is the premier boutique studio in Maryland and Virginia, set apart by our commitment to excellence in contemporary reformer Pilates. We believe that true wellness is rooted in meaningful connection. Our mission is to empower our clients to reach their fitness goals while building a vibrant, joyful community.

As we expand into Reston, we are looking for a dynamic Assistant General Manager (AGM) to lead our Vienna, Great Falls, and upcoming Reston locations. If you are a high-energy leader with a passion for fitness and community building, RTR Pilates is the place for you to thrive!

The Role

The AGM is a cornerstone of our studio operations. You will partner closely with the General Manager to drive growth, maintain our high brand standards, and cultivate an exceptional client experience. This is a “hybrid” leadership role that balances administrative strategy, grassroots marketing, and hands-on instruction.

Instructional Requirement: The AGM will lead by example, teaching a minimum of 12 in-person Pilates classes per week (with the flexibility to teach up to 16 based on studio needs).

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support & Strategic Growth

  • Partner with the GM to manage the sales funnel (Leads → Intros → Memberships).

  • Identify conversion gaps and execute localized initiatives to exceed monthly revenue targets.

  • Oversee studio “readiness,” including retail inventory and ensuring reformers meet safety and aesthetic standards.

Instructional Excellence & Quality Control

  • Deliver 12–16 high-energy, brand-consistent classes weekly.

  • Assist the GM in conducting instructor evaluations to ensure the “RTR Instruction Standard” is met across all sessions.

Client Relations & Retention

  • Act as the primary lead for studio communications (Email/CRM), providing professional and solution-oriented support.

  • Execute “member-save” strategies to reduce churn and build long-term brand loyalty.

Grassroots Marketing & Culture

  • Lead localized marketing campaigns and manage the studio’s social media presence to drive lead generation.

  • Serve as a Culture Ambassador, fostering an inclusive, high-energy environment that champions RTR’s mission and values.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: Fitness teaching experience is preferred. Backgrounds in client relations or social media management are a major plus.

  • Passion: A genuine love for the fitness industry and an interest in Pilates.

  • Ambition: A desire to master fitness software, analytics, and financial acumen to prepare for a future General Manager role.

  • Flexibility: Ability to work on-site across the DMV area and maintain a non-traditional schedule (including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends) to meet community needs.

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in rewarding our leaders for their impact. This position offers a competitive salary plus performance-based incentives.

  • Base Salary: $48,000 – $52,000

  • Class Compensation: $40.00 per class

  • Revenue Share Bonus: Eligible for monthly bonuses. Typical annual payouts range from $8,000 to $10,000+ based on growth.

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Future Planning: 401K program.

  • Work-Life Balance: 11 days of PTO per year plus 8 floating holidays.

This isn’t just a management job—it’s a career launchpad. We are looking for a high-performer ready to prove their leadership during our “Founding Phase” and transition into a General Manager role overseeing total studio operations and future growth.

  • Local Expert: You know Philadelphia inside and out. You know where our target clients hang out and how to connect with them.

  • Resilient & Adaptable: You can handle the pivots and challenges that come with new construction and market entry.

Requirements

  • Travel: Ability to travel to the DC/DMV area for 2–4 weeks of intensive initial training.

  • Flexibility: A “whatever it takes” schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and evening community events.

  • Experience: Fitness experience is preferred; you will be trained to teach our signature RTR-style reformer Pilates.

  • Class Compensation: $40 – $50 per class (based on experience and training).

  • Launch Bonus: Commission structure tied directly to presale performance and grand opening targets.

  • Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance; 401K; 11 days PTO + 8 Holidays.

  • Growth Path: Clear trajectory to General Manager ($72K+ base) contingent upon a 90-day performance review and hitting key metrics.
