Pilates can be a fun and exciting way to spice up your week—but nobody wants to be looking forward to their workout only to find out that the Pilates classes they wanted to attend are fully booked!
A little bit of smart planning and some strategy can help you make the most of RTR’s online booking system to get you into the classes you want.
Whether you are aiming for a specific skill level for your class or value your time with one particular instructor, RTR makes it simple to book online.
You can always look at what classes are available each day using the online schedule tool, but here are some additional tips and hacks to really get the most out of your Pilates planning.
Book Classes Ahead of Time
Did you know that you do not have to wait until the day of a class to sign up? In fact, you can use RTR’s class booking tool to look days or even weeks ahead for classes and instructors that interest you.
Remember, if you are new to Pilates or RTR Pilates, you must start with either a Level 1 or Level 1+ class for safety!
Once you identify the day you want to schedule and a class that is open for reservations, choose Reserve to be taken to your account.
From there, you’ll be able to reserve your spot in that class or select from the many class packages we have (if you don’t already have one!). You can use the mobile app to make reservations in just a few taps on the go, too.
RTR does not limit participants to a certain number of classes per day or week; as long as you have classes left in your package, you can participate using the schedule that suits you best.
Use the Waitlist
RTR Pilates has created an automated waitlist to make getting into your favorite classes easier than ever. If a class is offering a waitlist, you may join it as long as you have at least one class credit in your account.
People are added to the waitlist using a first come, first served fashion. If someone who is already signed up for the class cancels, the first person on the waitlist is automatically added.
Using the waitlist is a great way to get into classes you’re interested in without having to refresh the class page all day.
However, if you’re already signed up for another class that overlaps with the class for which you are waitlisted, it is your responsibility to cancel the initial class once accepted via waitlisting.
As much as you may want to, you can’t take two classes at once! The waitlist only operates outside of the 12-hour cancellation window for exactly this reason.
Within 12 hours of the class start time participants will no longer be automatically moved from the waitlist into available class spots and needs to be monitored and managed by the individual.
Check for Cancellations
If you checked for an opening in a class you wanted to attend but it was full, don’t despair! RTR Pilates keeps an active count of the total number of participants signed up, which means that you should check back occasionally to see if anyone has submitted an early cancellation, especially the day of the class.
This could free up a spot that you are eligible to take as soon as the reservation system opens again!
RTR encourages participants to cancel with at least 12 hours’ notice before the class (otherwise, they lose a class credit). This means that cancellations are most likely in the time leading up to the final 12 hours before a class.
Try Other Locations
Depending on where you are located, there may be multiple RTR Pilates locations near you. Your membership works at all of them, so don’t forget to check more than one location to find classes that align with your schedule!
You can easily swap between geographic locations, class types, and instructors within the class signup portal.
Some regions are going to be more or less busy on certain days or at certain times based on multiple factors, such as localized traffic patterns, community interest, and more.
By keeping your participation location flexible, you’re more likely to get into classes relevant to your interests or abilities. Use the drop-down arrow next to Maryland, Virginia, or DC to change regions or cities.
