So you’ve scheduled your first RTR Pilates class—now what?! Here are 5 helpful tips to “know before you go” to make sure you have the best experience possible:
1.) Read our FAQ page: The FAQ page contains helpful information such as our cancellation policies, No Show policies, and class levels. We strongly recommend all clients start out in a Level 1 Class to ensure you get the attention you need and avoid any injury. It’s also the best way to learn our contemporary approach to reformer Pilates!
2.) Arrive to the studio 5-10 minutes prior to the start time of class. Our classes start on the 15 minute mark of every hour, so arriving between :05-:10 will allow you to observe the end of the class before yours and give you time to talk to the instructor between classes.
3.) Make sure you have grip socks! We require all clients to wear socks with grip on the bottom for safety and hygiene. We carry Toe-Sox and Tavi Noir grip socks, which are available to purchase via our self-service retail kiosks located at each studio.
4.) Let the instructor know it’s your first class and inform them of any injuries you may have. Getting to the studio 5-10 minutes early will allow ample time for you to meet the instructor, have them show you the Allegro II Reformer we use, and discuss any injuries you may have. Informing the instructor of injuries allows them to provide modifications for you throughout class to make it more enjoyable!
5.) Have an open mind and be ready to work hard! We are a contemporary, group reformer Pilates studio. Our Pilates classes are designed to make you work muscles you didn’t know you had in a choreographed 55 minute flow around the Allegro II reformer. Each instructor approaches class differently, and no two classes are ever the same. We challenge our clients to get in touch with the mind-body connection of classical Pilates while making it fun and energetic!
