Tanya discovered and fell in love with Pilates a few months after moving to Maryland. She attended both Mat and Reformer Pilates classes and was amazed at the “whole body” approach and results… leaving her with a feeling of strength and rejuvenation. She believed in the practice and the results so much that she wanted to share it with others and began teaching Mat Pilates and Yoga classes four and a half years ago. Since then, Tanya participated in and completed the inaugural Potomac Pilates instructor training course and now teaches reformer Pilates classes regularly for Potomac Pilates. She loves the relaxed atmosphere and family feel at the studios with both clients and fellow staff. Tanya especially loves meeting new clients and helping them progress in their Pilates practice. “I am continually amazed at how quickly a client can improve and see results from Pilates. That ‘aha moment’ is such a joy to see and I love being able to help our clients find their just-right challenge.”
Using the skills I have learned from being a Rock The Reformer client first and certified thru Balanced Body, I get to help clients discover what they are truly capable of physically and mentally. The longest and most important relationship we have during our lives is the one with our mind and body, Pilates is designed to bring both together to help us focus on being present in the moment. One of the crazy blessings in having emergency open heart surgery is how Pilates had kept me in shape before and helped me recuperate quickly after. It makes me so happy when a client achieves their true potential and has that beautiful “A-ha” moment in understanding what Pilates has done for them. I am so lucky to be a part of their journey!
Ulrick has a lifelong passion for fitness and has dedicated 15 years to all aspects of the profession. He is a strong advocate for an active lifestyle and healthy nutrition. Prior to becoming a fitness professional, Ulrick earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and a Masters in Management Information Systems from The American University. Ulrick quickly realized that Pilates was the missing piece in his comprehensive training regimen and could only benefit his background and help with clients. His positive outlook on life and training allows him to seek many different aspects of the fitness world. He is the founder and owner of URFitness and has worked as a fitness trainer at health clubs throughout the greater DC area. Ulrick's background includes expertise in group training, boot camp programs, boxing classes, sport specific conditioning, and rehabilitation exercises. Ulrick's certifications include: Balanced Body Pilates Mat and Reformer, Fitness Instructor and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength Professional Association, and Post-Rehabilitative Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist with the Pink Ribbon Program.
